Electrical Installation Condition Reports
The EICR provides you with insight into the current health of your property’s electrical system, revealing whether your electrical remedial work conforms to applicable electrical safety standards or if attention is needed.

Comprehensive reporting on your electric utilities
Electrical Installation condition reports (EICR) are provided as an official document given after an assessment of your electrical utilities by a qualified engineer or electrician. An electrical installation condition report should be carried out regularly and in accordance with electrical safety standards BS7671.
While there is only one legitimate EICR, the term is frequently recognised under various other naming conventions, for example a visual condition report, periodic inspection report, electrical installation or safety certificate.

What does an Electrical Installation Condition Report tell you?
-
If the electrical circuits are in good condition and safe to use
-
Whether or not there is a risk of electric shock
-
Any defective electrical work has been installed
-
Recommendations for earthing within the building
-
An inspection of the condition of the consumer unit
How often is an EICR required?
The type of building will determine the advised time intervals for which EICR’s should be completed, but for approximate guidance:
-
Private Domestic: every 10 years or on change of occupancy.
-
Rented Domestic: every 5 years or on change of occupancy.
-
Commercial Electrical: every 5 years or on change of occupancy.
-
Industrial Electrical: every 3 years or on a change of occupancy.
