Full electric and plug-in hybrid cars are growing in popularity due to their environmental credentials but also, the financial running benefits they provide, given their road tax exemptions and lower associated maintenance costs.
To support this, there are over 14,000 vehicle charging locations across the UK, offering close to 22,000 charging devices and nearly 38,200 charging connectors. This number continues to rise at a rapid rate, and is being driven by Government schemes aimed at boosting electric vehicle usage.

Electric Vehicle Charging Point Funding
Through the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV), grants are available to support the wider use of electric vehicles.
The Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme provides up to 75% off the installation cost (up to a total of £350) for charging points at domestic properties, while the Workplace Charging Scheme offers up to £350 per socket (up to a maximum of 40 sockets) for commercial properties.
